A CLASSIC & RELAXED WINTER WEDDING AT THE FARMHOUSE AT REDCOATS,
HITCHIN, HERTFORDSHIRE
Kickstarting a new blog series is this gorgeous wedding from back in March 2024. We’ve been so busy over the last few years that blogging took a bit of a back seat, but with so many beautiful weddings and couples to feature it’s high time to rectify our tardiness on the journal front!
We’ll be regularly featuring a mix of current weddings, as well as some throwbacks from the past 12 months that we didn’t get around to showcasing at the time. We’ll also be sharing our wedding planning hints and tips and best practices so make sure to come back soon to see what else we’ve added to these pages.
So, let’s get started!
When Charlotte & Jordan first booked with us, their wedding was originally scheduled for February 2023. However, life happened and the couple found they were expecting a baby! So plans were rearranged for March 2024.
When the new date arrived we were so excited! By this point we had known C&J for almost 2.5 years - part of our approach to shooting weddings is to build a strong connection with our couples and we were just so thrilled to see them finally celebrate their day at The Farmhouse at Redcoats.
With an elegant, rich palette and a relaxed atmosphere their day certainly did not disappoint!
The Farmhouse at Redcoats, in Hitchin, Hertfordshire is a 15th Century building filled with quirky details, historic features, and stylish interiors. The venue is surrounded by the beautiful Hertfordshire countryside meaning there are beautiful views and scenes both inside and out - perfect for a winter wedding in March when you have no idea what the weather will provide!
The rich, warm palette of the interiors worked beautifully for a cosy ceremony, as well as some relaxed indoor portraits as we escaped the March rain, and we still managed to nip outside between showers for some outdoor shots too.
A WINTER WEDDING FULL OF LOVE AND LAUGHTER
There was such a lovely, warm, relaxed vibe to Charlotte & Jordan’s day, this was heightened by the couple’s choice to have less formal elements and to instead concentrate on authentic, candid moments. Most of their day was therefore captured in a predominantly documentary style and the love was simply palpable.
We also had some fun with some more editorial style portraits at the end of the night, as requested by the couple, these are probably some our favourite shots of the whole day as you can just see the happiness radiating on Charlotte’s face!
