Why great wedding photos don't need to be a huge production
RELAXED WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY TAKES THE LEAD FOR MODERN COUPLES
HOT TAKE: Wedding photography has spiralled into a race for Instagram likes and a cookie cutter experience. There. We said it. But it doesn't have to be this way - we’re on a mission to take things back to what matters most.
You deserve more than recycled trends and forced moments. You deserve wedding photos that are uniquely yours.
We’re here for the real, the raw and the beautifully unscripted. Based in Shropshire, we capture weddings across the UK with a relaxed, documentary-style approach, and a little editorial sass on the side.
Our couples book us for our documentary wedding photography because they want epic, authentic wedding photos without the huge production. For the most part, we’ll capture your day as it unfolds, unobtrusively finding beauty and curiosity in even the smallest of moments. This means you’re free to kick back, relax and be fully present in your day - whatever that looks like to you.
Because we’ve been in this biz for over a decade, we’ve got the skills and the know-how to be able to create some epic portraits, and group shots too (if you want them), with minimal fuss. This is where that previously mentioned sass comes into play - all killer and no filler here! We’ll be lead by you, your love language, and comfort levels when creating your portraits.
We’ll never ask you to recreate something for the sake of the ‘gram, and we promise we’ll never, ever ask you to say cheese (unless we’re ordering a pizza). It’s just your love, centre stage (with a little bit of gentle direction if needed).
So ignore what social media tells you - you can have gorgeous wedding photos without turning the whole day into a high-stakes photoshoot.
5 reasons you can skip the big production on your wedding day
1. Authentic moments are more memorable
Some of the most memorable wedding photos are the ones that aren’t planned. Whether it’s a shared laugh with friends, a tear during the vows, or a quiet minute between you and your partner, these authentic moments tell your unique love story.
As documentary wedding photographers, we specialise in capturing these raw, unscripted emotions in a way that feels completely natural.
2. Simplicity is timeless
You don’t need elaborate setups to create stunning wedding photos. While props can be fun if they’re authentic to you, there’s undeniable beauty in simplicity.
All you need is you, your partner, and your love for timeless, personal images that transcend fleeting trends - and look just as beautiful decades later.
3. Less production means less stress
If you’re camera-shy, or hate being the centre of attention, the thought of a high-production photoshoot can feel a little overwhelming. A low-key approach to wedding photography takes the pressure off, allowing you to focus on what matters most - your partner, your loved ones, and being fully present in your day.
With a relaxed photography style your wedding will feel like a celebration, not a staged performance.
4. Simple guidance, minimal disruption
We know that being in front of a camera can feel daunting, especially if you’re not used to it. That’s why we blend candid photography with gentle direction, giving you the best of both worlds.
Your couples’ portraits and group shots will be photographed with minimal fuss in just 20-30 minutes. After that, you’re free to enjoy the rest of the day, without the pressure to perform.
5. Capture what really matters - the connections
Wedding photography isn’t just about beautiful images. It’s about the people and connections that mean the most to you. From dancing with family, to laughing with friends, these moments make your wedding day unforgettable.
When you’re free to connect naturally, we’re able to document the relationships and emotions that truly define your love story.
